Domaine Dauvissat is a family estate that is among the most emblematic estates of Chablis. The Dauvissat estate has a remarkable terroir and produces some of the greatest white wines from Burgundy.

Arguably the finest address in Chablis. Vincent Dauvissat uses oak sparingly to add complexity and dimension to his piercingly mineral concentrated wines. Some of barriques are 30+ years old. They are wines that are rarely exotic in their youth, tight as a drum in fact, but with age (and they age by gracefully by the decade) as they evolve and develop into exciting and comprehensive wines of sophistication and interest.

Tasting Notes

92 Points Allen Meadows
A lightly exotic nose consists of pure white orchard fruit and muscat nuances that display background hints of floral character, mineral reduction, matchstick and seaweed. The rich, round, succulent and concentrated flavors possess an opulent but balanced finish where the minerality really comes to the fore. Once again, this excellent effort should age well over the mid to even longer-term.

93 Points Robert Parker Wine Advocate
Aromas of fresh peach, white flowers and mint introduce the 2017 Chablis 1er Cru Vaillons, the most expressive and outgoing wine in Dauvissat’s 2017 collection. On the palate, it’s medium to full-bodied, satiny and supple, with an elegantly textural attack, a layered core and a saline finish. If any readers intend to drink their Dauvissat premiers crus in the flush of youth, this is the bottling they should seek out.
