The 2017 Chablis Les Preuses Grand Cru is a stunning wine that embodies all of the best qualities of Chablis today. A grand, sweeping wine, the Preuses possesses dramatic concentration and richness. All of the classic Preuses signatures of citrus, slate, sage, crushed rocks and mint literally explode into a finish of palate-staining weight and intensity. Very ripe peaches and yellow citrus with a wealth of flinty aromas that really reflect this stunning terroir. Intense white peppers here. Complex and super mineral with a very deep and dense palate. Elegant with power. Stunning. Incredible exuberant style. A regal, commanding Chablis!

Vincent Dauvissat’s 2017 Chablis Grand Cru Les Preuses is extraordinary, blossoming in the glass with aromas of orange blossom, smoky oyster shell and wet stones, followed by a full-bodied, satiny and searingly chalky palate that’s strikingly multidimensional, pure and precise, with a bright spine of acidity and a long, resonating finish. From barrel, I described this wine as the “essence of rocks,” and from bottle, I wrote exactly the same words.
