Domaine Dauvissat is a family estate that is among the most emblematic estates of Chablis. The Dauvissat estate has a remarkable terroir and produces some of the greatest white wines from Burgundy.
Arguably the finest address in Chablis. Vincent Dauvissat uses oak sparingly to add complexity and dimension to his piercingly mineral concentrated wines. Some of barriques are 30+ years old. They are wines that are rarely exotic in their youth, tight as a drum in fact, but with age (and they age by gracefully by the decade) as they evolve and develop into exciting and comprehensive wines of sophistication and interest.
92-93 Points James Suckling
Some savory and lemon-pastry aromas here. The palate has such fleshy peaches and white nectarines, as well as mangoes. Very round, open and fluid wine. Acidity has the final word. So long and densely mineral at the finish. Try from 2023.
91-94 Points Vinous
The 2018 Chablis Vaillons 1er Cru is such a gorgeous wine. Specifically, the 2018 expresses the natural richness of the year and yet retains a good bit of freshness and focus as well. Creamy, silky and pulsing with energy, the Vaillons has so much to offer. Lemon confit, white flowers and mint are beautifully laced together throughout.
