Not only does the Raveneau family own many of the finest sites in the appellation, but their wines have a steely magnificence that captures the essence of Chablis’ distinctive terroir. The greatness of Raveneau’s Chablis has even led some to suggest they deserve an appellation of their own.
Raveneau wines are famous for their longevity. In fact, many believe that a top Raveneau Chablis doesn’t hit its stride until it’s at least 8 to 10 years old. At this time, the wines not only acquire even greater richness, but layer upon layer of previously hidden flavors are revealed.
Along with René and Vincent Dauvissat, Raveneau pioneered the use of Côte d’Or winemaking in Chablis, including barrel fermentation and extended lees contact.

Tasting Notes

97 Points Vinous
The 2022 Chablis Blanchots Grand Cru has a delectable bouquet of white peach, Vervane, crushed stone and delicate yellow plum aromas. It displays poise and refinement in spades (more than the Valmur). The palate is very well balanced, with real intensity and drive, surfeit with energy and with a pixelated finish that is magnificent. One of the Domaine’s top wines in 2022.

93-96 Points Allen Meadows
Note: from two parcels totaling .65 ha, where one was recently pulled up while the second parcel of 80+ year old vines is still productive. This is actually quite aromatically similar to the Montée de Tonnerre though with a touch of oak influence. On the palate though there is more size, weight and density to the larger-scaled flavors that flash evident powerful and equally prominent minerality on the massively persistent finish. As is often the case at this early stage, this could use better depth but it should only be a matter of time. In a word, impressive.*Burghound Don’t Miss!*

95 Points Wine Advocate
The 2022 Chablis Grand Cru Blanchot is especially attractive this year, wafting from the glass with aromas of pear, clear honey, orange zest and white flowers, framed by a deft touch of youthful reduction. Full-bodied, satiny and elegant, it’s suave and layered, with racy acids and a long, mineral finish.
