Mount Mary is a family owned, single vineyard estate located in the heart of the Yarra Valley. Established in 1971 by John and Marli Middleton, Mount Mary was one of the first vineyards planted in the resurgence of the Yarra Valley as a premium wine producing region.
hree generations of the Middleton family have dedicated themselves to wines of elegance, longevity and distinction. All wines are made entirely from estate grown fruit and are produced and bottled on site at Mount Mary.
Mount Mary has established a dedicated clientele of private mailing list customers and has become grown to become one of Australia’s greatest wineries.
97 Points James Halliday
Intense optical scanning of every berry by sorting tables and Oscillys; matured in French oak (25% new) for 16 months. Radiant clear crimson. All the red berries of forest and field fill the bouquet and the strikingly fresh palate, which proceeds to expand on the finish with the proverbial peacock’s tail on display. Drink by 2035.

Classical, concentrated, seamless and silky. These are words I would use to describe the Mount Mary Vineyard Pinot Noir style, and the latter I would attribute to the masterful crafting of tannin that the Middletons have perfected in their vineyards. This 2020 Pinot Noir is supple and red-fruited, with a poise and clarity that goes long in the mouth. Right now, the fruit remains subdued and restrained as it glides across the tongue through the finish. The length of flavor explains, patiently, that the wine has far to go before it sleeps and that it has many layers to unfurl in that time. Patience, young one. Drink 2022 – 2037.
