Description
90-92 Points Allen Meadows
Notes of matchstick, petrol, white flower and discreet citrus zest nuances comprise the cool and restrained nose. As is usually the case, the medium-bodied flavors are not as rich as those of the straight Meursault but there is noticeably more minerality and cut and particularly so on the sappy, long and bone dry finish. This offers excellent quality for a villages level wine.
91 Points Robert Parker Wine Advocate
An incipiently complex bouquet of Anjou pear, citrus oil and nutmeg preface the 2017 Meursault Vireuils, a medium to full-bodied, satiny and layered wine that’s chalky, incisive and racy. The inherent tension of the site is tempered by the charm of the vintage to compelling effect.
94 Points Decanter
Jean-Marc Roulot’s single parcel of Vireuils is in the upper part of this superb village terroir on the slope above Meursault, at an altitude of 300 metres. It’s a classic, focussed, refreshing Roulot style combining finesse with notes of jasmine, citrus and green tea.
