Here too there is a whiff of matchstick on the petrol, pear and more floral-suffused nose. There is a lovely inner mouth perfumed on the punchier medium weight flavors that possess slightly better depth and length on the balanced and moderately firm finish. This is a very good Bourgogne and worth checking out.

The 2018 Bourgogne Blanc has also turned out very nicely, offering up aromas of citrus oil, crisp Anjou pear, white flowers, hazelnuts and blanched almonds. Medium to full-bodied, satiny and precise, it’s elegant and charming, with a delicate, fine-boned profile and a precise, mouthwatering finish. Like its Aligoté sibling, this is approachable today, though I suspect it has more to give with some bottle age.
