The Massolino family’s history as winegrowers in Serralunga stretches back more than a century.

Founded in 1896 by Giovanni Massolino, the family’s history is richly intertwined with that of the whole region. They now farm 23 hectares across prime real estate in the Serralunga sub-region, with premium holdings on the famed slopes of Margheria, Parafada and the legendary vineyard Vigna Rionda.

These are wines that, while classic, have continued to evolve over each generation in pursuit of the purest expression of the beloved Nebbiolo grape.

One of the great wine families of Piedmonte and the wines are prized in the best cellars and restaurants in the world.

Packaged with a special black label, the Massolino 2016 Barolo Riserva Vigna Rionda is only released in the best vintages. Showing the power and the determination of Serralunga d’Alba, the wine is redolent of dried berry, lots of rusty earth and fragrant red rose. These are the typical aromas of this vineyard, and this wine presents them with impeccable integration. To the palate, this Riserva remains open-knit, tightly structured and broad in scope. This is an impressive production of 12,000 bottles.
