Description
91-93 Points Vinous
Bright lemon-yellow color. Pungent aromas of lemon and lime are complicated by a subtle leesy quality. A distinct step up in energy from the Narvaux, with its penetrating lemon and lime flavors complemented by saline minerality and a minty nuance. No shortage of acidity here. Finishes with excellent echoing length. Colin says these vines are situated “in the middle of Lafon’s Charmes du Haut.”

The 2015 Meursault 1er Cru Charmes has a pleasing richness and generosity on the nose: citrus fruit, a touch of dried pineapple and later with aeration, attractive almost resinous/candlewax aromas. The palate is medium-bodied with crisp acidity, a little grainy and certainly quite saline in style. There is a cheeky dab of lemon sherbet on the finish to complete what is a very fine Meursault Charmes, one that actually surpasses the 2014.
