Domaine Dauvissat is a family estate that is among the most emblematic estates of Chablis. The Dauvissat estate has a remarkable terroir and produces some of the greatest white wines from Burgundy.
Arguably the finest address in Chablis. Vincent Dauvissat uses oak sparingly to add complexity and dimension to his piercingly mineral concentrated wines. Some of barriques are 30+ years old. They are wines that are rarely exotic in their youth, tight as a drum in fact, but with age (and they age by gracefully by the decade) as they evolve and develop into exciting and comprehensive wines of sophistication and interest.
95 Points Allen Meadows
A strikingly pretty and beautifully well-layered nose offers up notes of mineral reduction, fresh citrus, apple and a plethora of classic Chablis characters all of which is trimmed in just enough wood to notice. There is fine richness, volume and mid-palate concentration to the bigger and more powerful middle weight plus flavors that coat the palate with dry extract on the surprisingly powerful finish. As it usually does this combines punch with finesse and it should thoroughly reward extended keeping. In a word, brilliant.
95+ Points Vinous
Very pale yellow. Knockout nose combines pear, white peach, wild herbs and flowers. At once dense and remarkably incisive, conveying outstanding cut and purity, not to mention inner-palate floral lift. With its bracing acidity, this utterly palate-staining wine is almost painful in the early going. It will need extended cellaring. (ST) 95+
