Description
91-93 Points Allen Meadows
Firm reduction pushes the underlying fruit to the background though it does seem ripe. There is more volume and certainly more punch to the overtly stony medium weight flavors that possess outstanding delineation before terminating in a youthfully austere, saline, focused and relatively power finish that offers impressive persistence. Textbook Les Cras.
92-94 Points Robert Parker Wine Advocate
The 2014 Chambolle Musigny 1er Cru les Cras has a strict and quite compelling bouquet, more black than red fruit with a subtle estuarine influence coming through. The palate is quite saline on the entry. Here it reverts to a more red fruit profile, very harmonious, but there are firm tannins here and hints of salted licorice towards the deep and bewitching finish. The kind of wine that makes you pause for thought.
