Clear, full crimson; the bouquet and palate alike have a special richness, DRC Richebourg compared to the Reserve’s La Tache; fruit, tannins and oak are welded together in an exultant wave on the bouquet, and a seamless stream on the very long palate, its finish and aftertaste of rarely encountered quality.

For those of you torn, not least financially, between the Premium and Reserve Pinots, then I’ll offer there’s not that much difference in quality. The reserve has a definition and clarity that the Premium does not, though I feel they are evenly matched at providing Pinot drinking pleasure. Raspberry, red cherry, spices, roses, citrus peel, fungal bass notes, oak neatly tucked in. Medium bodied, sappy and rosy and red fruited, fine kittenish tannin draws it long. Sensual Autumnal finish. Delicious. Fine wine. Such length. Nailed it.
