Domaine Hudelot-Noëllat has extensive vineyard holdings based around the Noëllat heartland of Vosne-Romanée and covering all the villages from Nuits St Georges to Chambolle-Musigny.
Charles Hudelot arrived at the domaine to take over from his grandfather Alain in 2008, assisted also by Vincent Munier who has been working there since 2005. There is no intention to deviate from the previous style of fine, fragrant wines however.
Small changes include the purchase of a new destemmer which sends the grapes into the fermentation vats uncrushed. The vineyards continue to be run according to lutte raisonnée though Charles is open to an organic approach in the future. New oak remains unobtrusive, with 20% for the village wines and up to 50-60% for the grands crus wines.

The 2010 Clos Vougeot from Domaine Hudelot-Noëllat is absolutely classic, offering up a deep and very focused aromatic mélange of black cherries, red plums, a nice touch of blood orange, very complex soil tones, game, vinesmoke and vanillin oak. On the palate the wine is deep, pure and primary, with its full-bodied format nicely reserved on the attack. The core is deep and sappy, with great soil inflection, ripe tannins and outstanding length and grip on the focused and very refined finish. This will be a great bottle of Clos Vougeot in the fullness of time. (Drink between 2020-2070)

Good medium red. Very fresh aromas and flavors of small wild red berries, dried flowers, smoke and game. Rich and voluminous but sappy and not at all heavy; really saturates the mouth with flavor and builds and echoes on the back end. The tannins are fine and even. A beauty.
91-93 Points Wine Advocate
The 2010 Clos de Vougeot is quite open and radiant at this stage. This is a totally gorgeous Clos de Vougeot that captures plenty of finesse with none of the austerity or angularity that can sometimes plague wines from this site. A pointed, mineral-drenched finish balances the wine beautifully. Anticipated maturity: 2018-2030.
