A still quite fresh and expressive nose is both strikingly elegant and pure with its secondary-tinged aromas of pear, green apple and acacia blossom and mineral reduction. The overtly stony, intense and chiseled medium-bodied flavors possess excellent density along with superb length and very fine complexity. This is brilliantly transparent and the mouth feel is akin to rolling small pebbles around in the mouth. Just as it was when I originally reviewed it however, it is the amazing persistence that I find so riveting as the finish just goes on and on. For my taste this has arrived at its peak though it should have no trouble remaining at this level for another 5 to perhaps even 10 years.

Gravel, minerals, stones, and spices can be discerned in the nose of the 2002 Meursault Perrieres. Light to medium-bodied, satiny-textured, and deep, this fresh mineral and spice-flavored wine possesses a lengthy, pure, detailed finish.
