Description
94 Points Allen Meadows
An extremely ripe nose of wonderfully seductive aromas, including pain grillé, white flowers, pear, apple, peach and apricot notes all framed by obvious botrytis notes and a deft touch of wood. The incredibly rich, imposing and opulent flavors possess plenty of power and muscle before culminating in an impressively long and harmonious finish.
95 Points Robert Parker Wine Advocate
The Domaine de la Romanee-Conti’s policy of late harvests for their Montrachet leads to forward, expressive wines with boisterously flavorful personalities. The spice box-scented 2000 Montrachet is a huge, medium-bodied, luscious wine. Buttered, super-ripe apples, poached pears, honeyed minerals, and countless spices can be discerned in its extravagant personality. Rich, deep, and dense, it is the sexiest, most seductive Montrachet I’ve encountered.
